The annual Woodward Dream Cruise is almost upon us and anxious fans couldn’t be happier. The official date for the Dream Cruise is Saturday, August 19th, although in truth, Cruise Week has turned into a weeklong festival of events for fans that features automobile design, engineering and a plethora of great vehicles. The event attracts over a million spectators and usually between 20,000 and 30,000 classic vehicles of all ages, makes and models.
The Dream Cruise travels Woodward from Ferndale to Pontiac and estimates are that approximately 26% of visitors to the event come from outside southeast Michigan. Which means the event is a big shot in the arm to the local economy each year as visitors hit the restaurants and hotels during their stay.
And as usual, Buick and GMC are front and center again for the 2017 version of the Dream Cruise. The Buick and GMC area will be located at the site of Nicki D’s Coney Island on Woodward Avenue just south of 14 mile road, a prime Dream Cruise location.
One of the prime attractions this year at the Buick and GMC area is that fans will have an opportunity to meet legendary Detroit Red Wings goalie Chris Osgood between 12pm-2pm on Saturday the 19th. Fans will get the opportunity for a photograph with Osgood, free t-shirts and for signed memorabilia. In addition, fans will get a chance to enter a drawing for a private meet-n-greet with Osgood. There will be two lucky winners and each winner will be able to include a guest.
The Buick and GMC area will also include the unveiling of the latest GMC and Buick vehicles. Fans can learn about the latest they have to offer all while enjoying themselves and getting a bird’s eye view of some of the most amazing classic cars in the country all in one place. Fans can also expect lots of free giveaways, concerts, and the coolest cars in the show.
In addition, there will be a live broadcast which can be accessed at https://www.facebook.com/metrodetroitbuickgmc where fans will see VIP behind the scenes action, interviews with celebrities and more.
So make sure you don’t miss stopping by the Buick and GMC event at Nicki D’s Coney Island on Saturday, August 19th. Fans can arrive as early as 10am and stay as late as 9pm. There will certainly be plenty to do and a good time is assured for all.
