Automotive journalists in Michigan report that the 2015 Lincoln Navigator handles the road below par and the interior build is of irregular quality. However, they say this large SUV is a weighty enhancement over the prior year’s model. Based on the Ford Expedition platform, the Navigator is powered by a new twin-turbocharged V6 engine, that critics say is noisy but has a robust acceleration. Rear-wheel drive comes standard with an option for four-wheel drive available. Reaching an EPA-estimated 16/22 mpg city/highway, the Lincoln’s fuel economy is fairly high for the segment. The Navigator has a towing capacity of 9,000-pound maximum, which is greater than the towing capabilities of many large SUVs. Test drivers say the Navigator has an even ride, though they note its handling is less composed than its competitors’.

Reviewers say that although materials are improved from the 2014 model, the cabin still is badly constructed in many places and comprises too much inexpensive plastic. Test drivers note some positives such that the Navigator’s third-row seat is among the roomiest in its class, and also that the cargo area is fairly spacious for this class. Standard features in the 2015 Navigator include leather seats, heated and cooled front seats, a power liftgate, heated second-row seats, front and rear parking sensors, navigation, a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, satellite radio, and Lincoln’s voice-activated SYNC system and the MyLincoln Touch system. Although many find the SYNC and MyLincoln Touch system to be difficult to learn and a headache to operate. Others notice features that are missing from the Navigator, such as radar cruise control, while many of other SUV’s offer it for far less money, including the Honda CR-V and the Nissan Rogue.
