Cherokee Recall Noted by Michigan Jeep Dealers

Michigan Jeep Dealers Note Cherokee Recall

February 2, 2015

Jeep has been recalling over 228,000 recently built SUV’s worldwide in order to repair a software dilemma which may trigger side air bags to inflate for absolutely no reason.

Vehicles involved in this recall are Jeep Cherokee models manufactured in 2015 and 2014, largely in the United States and Canada.

Jeep manufacturer, Fiat Chrysler, states a number of air bags have deployed accidentally. The deployments have happened mostly in off-road settings, according to Canadian safety regulators. Jeep manufacturer claims it is not aware of any injuries or crashes due to this issue.

Michigan Jeep Dealers and Jeep Dealers worldwide will examine vehicles and recalibrate the software to modify the threshold for inflating the side air bags. This will be at no cost to consumers.
